Edi Mue Gathegi, born on 10th March in 1979, is a very famous Kenyan – American actor. He starred in the recurring character of Dr. Jeffrey Cola aka Big Love in the television series named, House. He is also cast in the 2007 film Gone Baby Gone as Cheese, in the Film series Twilight and its sequel The Twilight Saga: New moon in the character of Laurent and X – Men: First Class in the role of Darwin. He got featured in the AMC series Into the Badlands in the role of Baron Jacoby. Edi had been a recurring character in NBC’s television series, The Blacklist in the role of Matias Solomon, the operative for a covert organization. Edi also reprised his role in the crime thriller, The Blacklist: Redemption in 2016-2017. He had also been cast in a leading role in Startup, the television drama series aired on Crackle.
His debut professional role was in the 2006 film, the Haitian Cabbie Crank. Even though Edi originally had auditioned for the character of Kaylo, the producers gave him the role to Efren Ramirez, despite his offering Gathegi an appearance as the Haitian Cabbie. Edi was very skeptical at the beginning about performing his Haitian accent but later was coached by a Haitian friend. In the year 2007, after guest-starring on Lincoln Heights and Veronica Mars, Gathegi went on to star in the role of Bodie in Death Sentence, The Fifth Patient asDarudi, and Gone Baby Gone in the role of Cheese. Edi then later had the recurring role as Mormon intern Dr. Jeffrey Cole in the television drama House, the character was sometimes mocked for his religious beliefs by Dr. House who, himself is an atheist.
Edi had also guest-starred in CSI: Miami, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Life on Mars in the year 2008 before he was cast in the role of Laurent in Twilight. When he first auditioned for the film, adapted from the same-titled first book in the Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, Edi had not even heard of the series and was not also aware that his character was the vampire. Edi has read the whole series and calls himself a hardcore fan. He also portrays the role of Eddie Willers in Atlas Shrugged released in the year 2011, which is based on Ayn Rand’s novel of the same name. He later portrayed another Haitian character, Jean Baptiste, in the fifth season of Justified, but was not happy with the role and asked to be written off the show. Edi also portrays the character Ronald Dacey on StartUp.

Born on 10th March in 1979, in Nairobi, Kenya, and later grew up in Albany, California, U.S. He then attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he played basketball until his knee injury ended his career. Edi later began to take acting classes. He studied at New York University’s Graduate Acting Program at the Tisch School of the Arts, graduating in the year 2005. He began his career in theatre, and his stage credits include Two Trains Running at the Old Globe Theatre, Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, As you like it, and Cyrano de Bergerac, Twelfth night to mention a few. In the year 2018, he got married to Adriana Marinescu.
He is black-skinned with a height of 6’1″ inches. But his dark tone makes him more attractive. He carries a different personality that suits him and differentiates him from others.
