Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian international cricketer. He was born on 5 December 1985 in Delhi, India. He is a left-handed opening batsman. Dhawan made his ODI debut against Australia in October 2010 at Visakhapatnam. Shikhar made his test match debut on 14 March 2013 against Australia at Mohali and T20 debut on 4 June 2011 against West Indies at Port of Spain.
In his ODI debut, Shikhar Dhawan was out on zero, and in his Test debut he made a century. The century he scored on his test debut was the fastest century scored by any player on his debut. Shikhar is also the first Indian batsman to score a century before lunchtime. He is one of the most successful opening batsmen of team India.
Shikhar became the must run-scorer in ICC 2015 world cup. He also became the 2nd fastest Indian player to reach 4000 runs in the year 2017. He played in IPL for the Sunrisers Hyderabad team. Shikhar did his schooling from St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School, Delhi. He studied till 12th standard.
He belongs to a Hindu family. His father’s name is Mahendra Pal Dhawan and his mother’s name is Sunaina Dhawan. He also has a sister Shrestha. On 30 October 2012, He married Ayesha Mukherjee. His wife is 10 years older than him. The couple has a son Zoravar and two daughters Rhea and Aliyah (Step-daughters).
